1. The St. Louis Office mails completed dossiers to the Beijing Office every Friday.
2. The CHI Beijing Office will translate our dossier, this takes approximately 2 weeks.
3. CHI Beijing office takes our dossier to the CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs).
4. Our dossier enters the CCAA administration office and will be there for up to 1 month to be logged in. Once we have a log in date (LID) our official wait begins. Our LID is March 27, 2007.
5. Now our dossier waits to begin the review process. In 2006 this was 3 to 4 months. I am not sure what it is now.
6. The CCAA administration office will take our dossier to "Bridge of Love" where they verify our dossier's translation. Again in 2006 this took from 2 to 3 months.
7. Our dossier is passed to Department I for review. In 2006 this process took 1 to 2 months. Currently this can take 3 to 5 months.
8. Our dossier is then sent to Department II for matching. In 2006 this took 3 to 4 months and I am not exactly sure how long this is taking now.
9. Our referral is sent to the administrative office to be signed by all the CCAA directors and sent to CHI. This can take several weeks.
10. We receive our referral - A very happy day! We return our letter of Seeking Confirmation to the St. Louis office and we return the letter to the CCAA.
11. The CCAA sends our travel approval (TA) to CHI. This is our approval to travel to China to complete our adoption. This takes about a month.
12. We travel to China to meet our daughter and complete the adoption. This is approximately 8 weeks after referral.
The wait from LID to referral in September of 2006 was 14 months. The Current wait from LID to referral is 27 months. :(
